Little Orange Ball

What canine with its chomping jaw
will defeat you?
What mouth of slavering mutt,
fierce with teeth,
will break you with its bite?
What breed of dog could that dog be,
that will succeed where others fail,
and puncture, rip, and tear you
into lonely pieces?
I say none.

There is no dog will ever best
the little orange ball,
small and indestructible,
abiding and round,
day bright and passively
rolling along, rolling along,
blithe little ball,
unbeaten and orange.
